Actors for the 2009 - 2010 Season

Abby Abell

Abby is happy to be making her on-stage debut at the Cabrillo Playhouse. She has previously served as stage manager here and at the Camino Real Playhouse, as well as assisting with art and costumes. Theater has been a big part of Abby's life since she was a little girl and for her this is a dream come true!

 

Mark Aguirre

Mark is excited to be making his return to the Cabrillo Playhouse stage after an eight-year absence where he played Jack Manningham in Angel Street.  Most recently, he was seen as Cassius in Julius Caesar at this summer’s 11th Annual Long Beach Shakespeare Festival.  Also this summer, he was seen as the King of Bohemia in Long Beach Shakespeare Company’s original production of Sherlock Holmes and A Scandal in Bohemia.  Other favorite roles include Antony in Antony & Cleopatra, Charles in Blithe Spirit, Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Bert in another terrific Ken Ludwig play -- Moon Over Buffalo. He has appeared in several feature and short films and has also appeared in television commercials and voiceovers. A native southern Californian, Mark is a graduate of both UCLA and USC.

 

Matthew Dodd

Matthew is pleased to be returning to the Cabrillo after his 3 year tour of Europe, Asia and the Sub Continent.  He has previously been seen on our stage in Laura and Partridge in a Pear Tree. When not at the Cabrillo, he can often be seen at the Camino Real Playhouse and, occasionally, the Huntington Beach Playhouse.   

 

Rachael Lyne Farrokh

Rachael is proud to launch her theatrical career at the Cabrillo Playhouse with such a talented cast and crew!  Her acting work has been primarily on-screen in various feature films, independent shorts, commercials, and webisodes.  She is elated to have this opportunity to showcase her talents on stage and allow her artistic endeavors to expand in this most challenging of realms!

 

Amy Hitchcock
Amy Hitchcock performed most recently in Les Ensembles with the Costa Mesa Civic Playhouse and Scared Money with Gallimaufry Performing Arts. Other credits include Guys & Dolls, Sordid Lives, Meet Me in St. Louis, Quilters, 42nd Street, Follies, Anything Goes, Steel Magnolias,Macbeth, Never In My Lifetime and BloodWedding.

 

Justine Kay

Justine is delighted to be  making her Cabrillo Playhouse debut.  She recently graduated from Chapman University with a B.F.A. in Theater Performance.  She has also worked with the Laguna Playhouse’s Youth Theatre, Education, & Outreach program as an Assistant Teacher.  Past credits include the The Tempest, A School for Scandal, Sarah Plain and Tall, The Boys Next Door, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Bell to Bell, and the World Premiere of New Beulah by Dan Moyer.  Justine would like to thank her family and Jeremy for dealing with her daily dramatics.  She would also like to thank the director, cast, and crew for their time, dedication, and overall humor.

 

Rick Kerrigan
Rick portrayed Doc Porter in Crimes of the Heart and Caleb Thorpe in The Spitfire Grill last season here at the Cabrillo. He also directed Happy Birthday, the closing show of last season and has written, directed and/or performed in dozens of shows here
and throughout the area. A long time San Clemente resident,Rick also holds the honor of Artistic Director for the Cabrillo Playhouse and will be directing the show following this fantastic production, Lend Me a Tenor. Rick would like to thank Austin for this wonderful experience, the hard working and talented cast and crew for their dedication and professionalism, and most especially, as always, his wife and daughter for their constant love and support.

 

Marc Marger
Marc is excited to make his debut at the Cabrillo Playhouse with this fun show. Performing in Southern California for almost 30 years, Marc has worked with many of the area’s community and professional theater companies. His recent/favorite shows and roles have included Sweet Charity (Herman),The Music Man (Marcellus), Chess (Arbiter), Jesus Christ Superstar (Annas), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Snoopy), Grease (Roger), Babes in Arms (Lee Calhoun), The Fantasticks (Bellomy), Side by Side by Sondheim (The Man), Fiddler on the Roof (Motel) Joseph and the AmazingTechnicolor Dreamcoat (Levi) and Knott’s Berry Farm’s Peril on the Prairie (Juan Condor), Back to
Bacharach and David and Stardust. In addition, Marc was a featured singer with the Regency and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and he even dabbled in some television and film work for a while. Besides his music theater entertaining, Marc has been singing with professional caroling companies throughout Orange County for the past 19 years and continues to do solo singing engagements as well. Marc thanks his family and friends for their ongoing support!

 

Kristen Matson
Kristen Matson is a native of San Clemente and is proud to be part of the cast of “I LoveYou,You’re Perfect, Now Change!” She was last seen on our stage as Lenny, in “Crimes of the Heart”, and as Shelby in “The Spitfire Grill.” Her previous musical theatre credits include: A Chorus Line (Connie), Oklahoma (Ado Annie), Evita (Dance Captain), The Marriage of Figaro (Cherubino), and The Christmas Post, where she originated the role of Alice. Kristen also sings on the worship team at San Clemente Presbyterian Church. Many thanks to Austin and the amazing cast and crew, not to mention her family and friends who have shown so much love and support! Enjoy the show!

 

Katie Nicol
Katie is thrilled to be working once again with Director Austin Peay. Her first experience working with Austin began when she was in High School in which she performed as Alice in Bye Bye Birdie, Cinderella in Into theWoods, and Maria in The Sound of Music, to name a few. After High School Katie put theater aside and focused on college, her career and getting married. Four years ago she appeared once again on stage in Into theWoods (for the third time) at the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano. Other roles include Marty in Grease!, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Lucy Van Pelt in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown,Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Babette in Beauty and the Beast, and more recently as Mallory/Avril in City of Angels.When not on stage Katie is "performing" everyday for 120 eighth graders teaching English in Aliso Viejo.To my partners on the stage Ella,MW and Linz, (FREAKSHOW, Ugh,Take THAT!!!) and to my partner in life, Kenn,I dedicate this show to you...I love you, you're perfect, NEVER change.

 

Michael Paul
Michael recently celebrated 20 years acting on stage and has appeared in nearly 90 theatrical productions all across the country. Past credits include touring productions of The Phantom of the Opera (Piangi/ Phantom u/s), Ken Hill’s The Phantom of the Opera (Faust), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (the Baker),The 50th Anniversary production of TheWizard of Oz (Cowardly Lion), the 25th Anniversary tour of Evita. Michael appeared Off-Broadway for 6 months in his one-man “stand-up” musical comedy I’m $elling Out! which went on to lengthy runs in Chicago, and recently at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles. Favorite Regional theater credits include
the Bearded Lady in the original L.A. company of Side Show (Ovation/Garland awards) Dr. Sex for Disney/ASCAP, Man of La Mancha (Sancho Panza), Big River (Pap), Bye Bye Birdie (Albert), Grease (Teen Angel) and GreaterTuna (Thurston et al). Recent So Cal appearances include Guys and Dolls (Nicely-Nicely), The Rocky Horror Show (Frank-n-Furter), and Urinetown (Billy Boy Bill). Michael is also the founder of acting/voice studio Broadway Bound OC here in San Clemente where, daily, he happily passes his experience in the performing arts onto the next generation.

 

Erin Wendorf

Erin is excited to be back at the Cabrillo Playhouse after last season's performances of Sylvia (Sylvia) and Crimes of the Heart (Meg Magrath).  Other local performances include The Comedy of Errors (Dromio of Ephesus) at Saddleback Theater Connection and A Christmas Carol (Catherine Dickens) at Camino Real Playhouse. Thanks to M&D for never ending support and you - the audience - for coming to the show.

 

Kimberly Wooldridge
Kimberly is very excited to be making her Cabrillo Playhouse debut in the musical that re-launched her theater career and initiated her musical career. Kimberly had been active in drama and forensics in high school and college,but had given it up for "real life" many years ago. But In 1998, when she saw the West Coast premiere of "I Love You,You're Perfect, Now Change" at the Laguna Playhouse, she turned to her then-boyfriend Wade and said, "This would be fun.We should do musical theater". Now here she is eleven years later in that very musical, and working with Diane King Vann, the musical director for that Laguna Playhouse production.

 

Kimberly would like to thank all of the teachers and directors that have helped her along the way,and allowed her to re-realize a dream that she had thought would never come again. She is also forever grateful to her wonderful, talented and supportive husband,Wade, for every day we get to share. It's a Charmed Life!

 

Wade Wooldridge
Wade is delighted to be making his Cabrillo Playhouse debut in his favorite small-cast musical.Wade is fairly new to the theatre side of the business, but has been singing publicly for over three decades. He has been in an eclectic mix of groups from a rock band to the William Hall Master Chorale and the Pacific Chorale, from the Lamplight Carolers to various church choirs. For many years he has been doing solo performances at various New Thought churches in the area, and in 2003 he recorded an album of inspirational music entitled "Imitate the Sun", which included six original songs and six covers.

 

Glenda Wright

Glenda is delighted and honored to be making her Cabrillo Playhouse debut as part of this wonderfully funny production.  A veteran actress,  some her favorite roles include Mrs. Potts in Beauty & the Beast, Jeanette in The Full Monty, Big Mama in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Miss Lynch in Grease, and Maggie in The Shadow Box . Other productions include The Vagina Monologues, California Suite, Cinderella Waltz, and an original stage adaptation of The Jungle Book. She has also appeared on television and in movies.  She thanks Rick Kerrigan for this special opportunity; the cast …what fun with new and old friends, and of course, Robert for his never ending love, support, and encouragement. And to “Kidlett” for always watching over her.
