Christmas Play – Inspecting Carol – A Dan Sullivan comedy        November 29 to December 16, 2007
A “Christmas Carol” is in trouble.  Tiny Tim is getting a bit long in the tooth, death keeps getting tangled up in the scenery and there’s an NEA site inspector arriving at any minute.  Enter Wayne, an eager actor with new ideas and very suspicious timing.  Is he really fresh from Washington D.C., as he claims?  The theatre takes no chances, with horrifying and hilarious results.

“I laughed ‘till I cried….  Sheer comic genius.” – Journal American.  “Hundreds of jokes… about…anything that strikes the author’s sardonic fancy.” – Seattle Weekly.  “A razzle dazzle of funny characters and ingenious jokes.”  - Seattle Post Intelligencer.  “A Dickens of a giggle. “ – Seattle Times.  “A rollicking farce.” – Everett Herald.

Caught In The Net – A Ray Clooney comedy                                January 17 to February 10, 2008
Bigamist, taxi driver John Smith is keeping his two families in different parts of London, both happy and blissfully unaware of each other.  His teenage girl, from one family and a boy from the other, however, have met on the Internet and are anxious to meet in person, since they have so much in common; name, surname and taxi driving dad!  Keeping them apart plunges John into a Hell-hole of his own making.  His lodger, Stanley, could be a saviour, but he is already at the guest house.  The situation spirals out of control, as John juggles outrageously with the truth.

“A master class in the art of farce….  The perfect potty plat is a precession build laughter machine.” – What’s On.  “Brilliant….  The funniest play of the year.” – Daily Mail.  “Utterly magical… firework display of knockabout comedy.” – Spectator.  “A sheer joy from beginning to end.” – Daily Telegraph.

When You Comin’ Back Red Rider? – A Mark Medoff drama        March 6 to March 30, 2008
Mark Medoff’s play, When You Comin’ Back Red Ryder?, combines two very different kinds of plays; a sweet, slice-of life drama about the customers of a small town diner and a taut little crime thriller, about a crazed drug runner and his dopey girlfriend who hold a handful of people hostage, again, in a small town diner.  Call it Andy Of Mayberry Meets Quentin Taratino. (Contains mature content/language)

Fourth Annual Bards and Chards Wine Tasting and Gourmet Dinner             May 10, 2008
Plans are well underway for this gala key fundraiser evening to be held at the Pacific Golf and Country Club once again. Last year's event was a sellout and this year's should be too, so plan to purchase your tickets early. Once again, the goal is to make this year's event even more successful than last year with fine wines, outstanding food and more. Last year dozens ofitems worth thousands of dollars, donated by businesses and individuals who recognize the importance of the theatre to the community, were auctioned off in a silent and live auction and given away in a raffle. Mark your calendar now to be certain you don't miss this highlight event of the San Clemente social calendar. All proceeds from this event go toward expanded programs and capital improvements to the theatre.

Picasso At The Lapin Agile – A Steve Martin comedy                   April 24 to May 18, 2008
As the 20th century rushed to a close, marked by unbelievable achievements and unimaginable horrors, comedian Steve Martin (yes, that one) created a play that wraps up the century.

In Picasso At The Lapin Agile, he brings together three of the century’s most influential figures; namely Picasso, Einstein and a revered rock and roll superstar.  If it sounds a little wild and crazy, that’s because it is, as Martin sprinkles a little philosophy between the jokes that fly fast and furious.
