YOUTH THEATRE PROJECT
The Cabrillo Playhouse is thrilled to
now have our youth program provided by Michael Wallot of
Broadway Bound.
Michael’s work with children spans 15 years with various
children’s theater productions on the East Coast. He starred
in the American Family Theater national tours of A Christmas
Carol (Fred) and Wizard of Oz (Lion. and directed Snow
White, The Sword in the Stone, and Cinderella for Shawnee
Playhouse’s professional Children’s Theater Company. In
California he worked with the renowned Chamberlain’s Fine
Art Academy in Beverly Hills for 2 seasons directing
productions of The Wizard of Oz and Little Mary Sunshine.
Both shows featured a cast of over 100 students and
performed at the beautiful state-of-the-art Smothers Theater
at Pepperdine University. Michael is also a director with
Christian Youth Theater in San Diego County where he
directed a multi- award-winning production of HONK and Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Michael
Wallot began his local children’s program in 2006 as The
Young Performers Academy in San Juan where he produced The
Wizard of Oz and Annie. In 2008 he opened this full-time
studio in San Clemente. Michael believes that teaching his
student’s focus, responsibility, and hard work are paramount
to their success onstage and in their own lives. He also
believes in having A LOT of fun! Michael is continually
developing his BROADWAY BOUND program which now includes
Voice lessons, Dance classes, Broadway Master Classes and a
year-round advanced program for students called the Elite
Company. He hopes his programs can provide a positive
learning environment for the amazing children and the
families of this area.
In past seasons our youth program has presented "The Little
Mermaid", "Annie", the Disney’s musical, “Alice in
Wonderland”, "Scrooge!", "Seusscal;" and opther great
